This 1951 Chevrolet Advance Design cab-over-engine flatbed truck is said to have been used for hauling water and grain before being purchased by the seller in 2024. A subsequent modification and refurbishment project involved fitting a replacement frame sourced from a later-model Chevrolet truck, a 454ci V8, and a four-speed automatic transmission as well as replacing the brake system and instrumentation, refreshing the interior, and adding a wood-floor cargo bed and bedside rails. The truck wears a corroded metal finish over brown vinyl upholstery, and features include equipment boxes, a receiver hitch, and Dolphin instrumentation. This Chevrolet COE flatbed is now offered with a Washington title in the seller’s name.
The cab has a corroded metal finish, while the 10′ cargo bed is outfitted with a varnished torched-wood floor and removable side rails. Additional features include under-bed storage cabinets, side steps, fender-mounted turn signals, LED taillights, a chrome front bumper, and a receiver hitch. The seller notes that rust on one of the rear cab corners was repaired with filler. A dent is visible on the left rear of the cab, bores are visible in fenders and doors, and the wiper arms are missing.
The seller states that the beige-painted replacement frame was sourced from a 1978 Chevrolet C10 pickup, and it is equipped with independent front suspension and rear leaf springs. Wire-spoke 15″ wheels with gold centers and polished rims are mounted with 215/65 Vogue tires, and stopping power is from power-assisted brakes.
The cab has been refreshed with beige-painted sheet metal, a bench seat upholstered in brown vinyl, and coordinated door panels and carpets. Additional work included adding sound-damping material as well as replacing the glass and wiring harness, and the truck is outfitted with tinted windows, a locking glove box, a black headliner, and a dome light.
The woodgrain-rimmed steering wheel is mounted on a tilt-adjustable column. Dolphin instrumentation includes a 140-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer shows 8 miles, though total mileage is unknown.
The engine compartment has been repainted beige, and the replacement 454ci V8 is equipped with an aluminum radiator and long-tube exhaust headers.
Power is routed to the rear wheels via a replacement four-speed automatic transmission. The 2.5″ dual exhaust system has heat-wrapped pipes and terminates ahead of the rear axle.
The reproduction serial number tag affixed to the truck displays the number N373361CAL, which is listed as the VIN on the current Washington title. A previously installed serial number is shown in the gallery.
The current Washington title carries an “Odometer-Exceeds Mechanical Limits” brand and describes the truck as a 1951 Chevrolet van.
