This Chevrolet Corvette C1 got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1956 Chevrolet Corvette was acquired by the seller on BaT in July 2022 and is finished in red with Ivory coves over red vinyl. Power is provided by a replacement 265ci V8 paired with a three-speed manual transmission, and additional equipment includes a white soft top, a removable hardtop, a heater, an aftermarket cassette radio, and a twin-cowl dash with a dash-mounted rearview mirror. This C1 is offered with a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The fiberglass body is refinished in red with Ivory coves and is equipped with a white convertible top. A removable hard top is shown in the gallery. Additional features include dual exhaust pipes exiting through the rear edges of the quarter panels along with a wrap-around windshield and chrome bumperettes, grilles, and trim. Paintwork is noted on portions of the body.

Body-color 15″ steel wheels are equipped with chrome spinner-style hubcaps and reproduction Goodyear wide-whitewall tires with “pie crust” sidewalls. A full-size spare is retained in the trunk.

The cabin features bucket seats and door panels trimmed with textured red upholstery. An aftermarket cassette radio is housed within the dashboard, and the interior is also equipped with a dashboard-mounted rear-view mirror, a floor-mounted shifter, a clock, and a heater.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames a sweeping 140-mph speedometer, and a tachometer mounted in the center of the dashboard is flanked by an analog clock and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 76k miles, approximately 200 of which have been added by the seller. The tachometer was repaired under current ownership.

A replacement 265ci V8 engine said to have been installed during prior ownership, and it is fitted with a single carburetor and “ram’s horn” exhaust manifolds linked to a dual exhaust system equipped with Cherry Bomb mufflers.
