This Triumph TR3 got away, but there are more like it here.

This Devin Special was built in the 2000s utilizing modified Devin 295 bodywork over a lengthened Triumph TR3 chassis under the direction of D L George Coachworks Ltd in Cochranville, Pennsylvania. The fiberglass bodywork was reportedly constructed in the late 1950s, though it remained unfinished and uninstalled until it was modified for the project with work involving revising the forward section further in the style of a Ferrari 750 Monza by incorporating faired-in headlights with covers, a revised hood scoop, an egg crate-style grille, and fender vents. The car was finished in dark blue with white roundels and outfitted with a roll hoop, a wrap-around windscreen, and a headrest fairing. Power is supplied by a 2.1-liter Triumph inline-four outfitted with dual Weber carburetors and mated to an uprated TR3B four-speed manual transmission sourced from Revington TR for the build. It rides on 15″ wire-spoke wheels in addition to front and rear anti-roll bars, Koni shocks, and front disc brakes. Inside, a single fixed-back bucket seat is trimmed in red upholstery and accompanied by a wood-rimmed steering wheel, a fire suppression system, and a trunk-mounted fuel cell. This Devin Special is now offered on dealer consignment in Pennsylvania with a Montana title.

California-based Devin Enterprises offered its roadster-style design in several size configurations to fit various chassis, and this example features what is said to be a 1959 Devin 295 fiberglass body that remained unfinished and uninstalled prior to receiving modifications further in the style of a Ferrari 750 Monza as part of the build initiated in the 2000s. Work involved revising the forward bodywork to incorporate faired-in headlights with covers, a egg crate-style grille, a modified hood scoop, and fender vents, as well as outfitting a headrest fairing, modifying the rear access panel to include a flip-up fuel filler cap, and sealing the right-side door.
