This 1960 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint is said to have remained with its original owner in California through the late 1980s and was acquired by the current owner in 2014. Subsequent refurbishment work included a repaint, partially reupholstering the interior in blue and gray vinyl, and overhauling the replacement 1.3-liter inline-four. The car is also equipped with a five-speed manual transmission, 15″ steel wheels, finned drum brakes, and stainless-steel bumpers. The rear differential was repaired in 2023, and work performed in 2024 is said to have involved overhauling the twin Weber carburetors and adjusting the brakes. This Giulietta Sprint was listed on BaT in February 2024, and it is offered again on dealer consignment with partial service records, handwritten mileage logs, and a clean Michigan title.
The selling dealer tells us the car was stripped and refinished in the factory shade of Gardenia White circa 2014. A number of trim pieces were either re-chromed or replaced, and a replacement windshield and weatherstripping were also installed. Exterior details include stainless-steel bumpers, a door-mounted left mirror, Bertone and gold-script Sprint badging, rear quarter pop-out windows, and a single exhaust outlet. Close-up photos of the paint and trim finish are shown in the gallery below.
Silver-finished 15″ steel wheels wear polished hubcaps and are mounted with 155-series Pirelli Cinturato tires, while a matching spare is stored in the trunk compartment. The car rides on an independent front suspension with an anti-roll bar as well as a coil-sprung rear axle. The four-wheel finned drum brake system was reportedly adjusted and bled in 2024. There is a scuff on the right-rear hubcap.
The cabin features low-back bucket seats that were reupholstered in blue and gray vinyl upholstery and are accompanied by a color-coordinated rear shelf and door panels. The body-color dashboard is topped by a black vinyl pad, while replacement blue carpets with contrasting piping cover the floors. The Motorola AM radio is inoperative and corrosion is visible along its bezel. Imperfections on the door panels are noted around the manual window cranks.
The two-spoke steering wheel features a horn ring and a gold-script Giulietta Sprint horn button. Veglia instrumentation consists of a central tachometer as well as a 140-mph speedometer and a combination gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 65k miles, approximately 630 of which were added under current ownership.
The replacement 1.3-liter inline-four was sourced from a 1961 Giulietta Sprint Veloce and installed under previous ownership. The engine was rebuilt in 2014, while the twin Weber carburetors were reportedly overhauled in 2024. The under-hood light does not work.
A five-speed manual transmission was installed under prior ownership, and it is said to have been rebuilt in 2014. Replacement Imasaf exhaust components were installed, and repairs to the rear differential were completed in September 2023. The fuel tank float was replaced in 2024, and the selling dealer notes humming from the rear of the car when it is in motion.
