This 1962 Dodge Dart six-passenger wagon was purchased in 2022 in California by way of Indiana by the seller. The car has been modified with a replacement 383ci raised-block V8 that has been stroked to 395.6ci and has Ross Racing pistons, Eagle rods, a Comp Cams camshaft, an aluminum radiator, a Holley fuel pump, braided fuel lines, and a dual-quad intake manifold with two Carter AFB carburetors. Ignition is via MSD Street Fire components, and a JEGS aluminum fuel cell is mounted in the spare tire compartment. Finished in blue over blue cloth and vinyl, the car is also equipped with a TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission, 14″ steel wheels with hubcaps, seat belts, and a row of Painless toggle switches. This Dart wagon is now offered with service records, spare parts, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The four-door 1962 Dart wagon was a one-year-only body style that, on this example, is finished in powder blue, with scratches, rust, and other blemishes visible in the gallery below. Styling includes quad headlights, tinted glass, and a chrome grille, bumpers, trim, and window surrounds.

Body-color 14″ steel wheels feature hubcaps and are mounted with Cooper Trendsetter front and Radial G/T rear tires measuring 225/75 and 255/70, respectively. Braking is provided by drums at each corner.

The cabin houses two rows of bench seats upholstered in blue cloth and vinyl. The headliner has been partially removed, and the headliner bows do not support themselves. The seller repotes that the wiring harness has been “simplified” and routed to a Painless eight-switch panel mounted beneath the dash.

The flat-bottom Grant steering wheel fronts a sweeping 120-mph speedometer and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, and amperage. AutoMeter oil pressure and water temperature gauges are concealed behind the vented plate in the center of the dash. The five-digit odometer shows 79k miles.

The replacement engine was built in 2013 by Pettis Performance of Hesperia, California. Displacing 395.6ci, the 383 RB engine features Ross Racing flat-top pistons, a Comp Cams camshaft, Eagle rods, and dual Carter AFB carburetors. An aluminum radiator is also installed along with braided forward fuel lines, a Phenix Industries fuel pressure regulator, a Holley fuel pump, and a custom aluminum in-line filter. An MSD Pro-Billet ignition bundle with Street Fire ignition control was installed in 2022.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission. A 10-gallon JEGS fuel cell is located in the spre tire compartment, and the removed fuel tank is included in the sale.
