This 1966 Volkswagen Beetle was initially registered in Arizona and spent time in Texas before being acquired by the seller on BaT in May 2024. Subsequent work included performing electrical repairs, overhauling the drum brake system, installing Coker Classic whitewall tires, rebuilding the carburetor, and replacing the axle boots, transmission fluid, and spark plugs. The car is finished in Bahama Blue over beige vinyl and tweed upholstery and is powered by a 1.3L air-cooled flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. Additional details include 15″ steel wheels, pop-out rear quarter windows, a 6-volt electrical system, a Blazecut automatic fire supression system, a Bambus parcel shelf, and a wire basket with integrated cupholders. This Beetle is now offered with service records, spare parts, and a clean Massachusetts title in the seller’s name.
The body is finished in Bahama Blue with areas of faded paint, dents, scratches, and corrosion visible throughout the exterior. Additional details include a left side mirror, pop-out rear quarter windows, and dual “pea shooter” exhaust tips. The windshield wipers were repaired under current ownership.
The 15″ steel wheels wear chrome VW-stamped hubcaps and are mounted with Coker Classic whitewall tires that were installed under current ownership. The master cylinder, wheel cylinders, and front brake hoses were replaced in March 2025.
Said to have been refurbished with materials from TMI Products, the interior features seating surfaces trimmed in beige vinyl with tweed inserts joined by color-coordinated door panels, charcoal loop pile carpeting, a black rubber floor liner, and a white perforated headliner. Additional interior details include a radio-delete plate, Wolfsburg-crest lap belts, a Bambus parcel shelf, and a wire basket with integrated cupholders. The horn was repaired under current ownership.
Instrumentation includes a 90-mph VDO speedometer and a fuel level gauge. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 74k miles.
The 1.3L air-cooled flat-four features a 6-volt generator charging system. A Blazecut automatic fire supression system is mounted to the underside of the decklid, and the exhaust system was replaced in October 2024. A tune-up service completed in March 2025 by VW Classic Bugs of Congers, New York, involved rebuilding the carburetor, installing a thermostat, and repairing the heater box levers in addition to replacing the oil cooler seals and spark plugs. Additional maintenance under current ownership included performing an oil change and fitting a six-volt Optima battery.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle, which received replacement axle boots and fluid under in March 2025. Undercoating material was also applied to the underside at this time, and photos in the gallery show the pans before and after.
The car is titled by the engine number F0542053, shown above. Images of the chassis stamp and body tag are provided in the gallery below.
Some of the photos in the listing and the gallery below are from the previous May 2024 sale, and the car has traveled approximately 1k miles since.
