This 1967 Dodge Dart GT two-door hardtop spent decades in Kentucky and was relocated to Oklahoma in 2016, after which it was fitted with a 1970 Mopar 340ci V8 and a 904 TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission during a 2017 refurbishment. The engine has been modified with “X” cylinder heads and exhaust headers, and the transmission is equipped with Kevlar clutches. The car has been repainted in Turbine Bronze with a black vinyl top over black vinyl upholstery, and features include an 8¾” Sure Grip rear end with 3.23:1 gearing as well as an AAR Quality Fiberglass hood, Rallye 14″ front and 15″ rear wheels, front disc brakes, a dual exhaust system, front bucket seats, a center console, Bosch auxiliary gauges, and a Bluetooth-capable RetroSound stereo. Bilstein front shocks and a Hellwig stabilizer bar were installed in 2024. This Dart is now offered with a removed hood, service records from current ownership, a car cover, and an Oklahoma title in the seller’s name.
Finished from the factory in Turbine Bronze Metallic (MM1), the car was repainted during the aforementioned refurbishment, according to the seller. An AAR Quality Fiberglass hood with a central scoop has been installed. Other exterior equipment includes a black vinyl-covered roof, a bright grille and tail panel, black rear stripes, Dart GT badging, fender-mounted turn-signal indicators, a driver-side mirror, bright trim, and chrome bumpers. The seller notes that the reverse lights do not work, a quarter-sized rust spot is located in the trunk, the windshield is chipped, a fender lip is cracked, and the paint at the edge of the driver door is chipped.
Rallye-style wheels measuring 14″ at the front and 15″ out back are mounted with Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires that were replaced in early 2024. Bilstein front shocks and a Hellwig Suspension Products front stabilizer bar also were installed in 2024, the seller tells us, and the rear leaf springs had been replaced in 2023. Braking is provided by front discs and rear drums. The brakes and the steering are unassisted.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in black vinyl. Amenities include a center console, a padded dashboard, front and rear lap belts, black carpeting, a heater, and a Bluetooth-capable RetroSound stereo. The rear headliner is sagging.
The three-spoke steering wheel has an aftermarket wrap and fronts a 120-mph speedometer and supplementary gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, and alternator status. Bosch auxiliary gauges for voltage, oil pressure, and coolant temperature have been added beneath the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 38k miles, approximately 5k of which were added under current ownership. The seller states that the odometer reading is not accurate, and true mileage is unknown.
The 340ci V8 is a 1970-manufactured engine that was rebuilt and installed in this car in 2017, utilizing “X” cylinder heads and exhaust headers. The camshaft was replaced in 2022. The car’s chassis number indicates that it was originally powered by a 273ci V8.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a 904 TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission that was rebuilt in 2017 and has been updated with Kevlar clutches. The 8¾” Sure Grip rear end was fitted with 3.23:1 differential gears in 2022. The dual exhaust system encompasses Pypes Turbo Pro mufflers.
