This 1967 Ford Mustang fastback was acquired by the seller in 2021, and it was subsequently refinished, modified, and mechanically refreshed. The V8 was rebuilt to Boss 302 specifications, and a Holley carburetor, an Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, tubular headers, and MSD ignition components were installed. The hood, portions of the floors, and the fuel tank were replaced, the body was painted gloss black, the four-wheel discs were serviced and the suspension was overhauled, and 17” Mach 1-style wheels were installed. Inside a wood-rimmed steering wheel was added along with a digital medial receiver connected to a Memphis Audio amplifier and a Kicker 10” subwoofer. The engine is backed by a three-speed automatic transmission, and other highlights include black vinyl upholstery, a lithium-ion battery, and LED headlights and taillights. This custom Mustang is now offered with a trickle charger and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
A steel hood with integrated turn signals was installed under current ownership, and portions of floor were replaced at Sunnyvale Auto Repair & Body in California. The car was then primed and repainted in Diamond Black urethane at an estimated cost of ~$30k, including the exterior trim, bumpers, and badging. LED headlights and taillights were added as well.
Satin-black Mach 1-style 17” wheels are mounted with 225/45 front and 245/45 rear BFGoodrich g-Force Comp 2 tires. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs with red-finished calipers all around, and the pads and rotors were replaced under current ownership along with the coil springs, leaf springs, and shocks.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a divided rear bench trimmed in black vinyl along with a center console. A retro-style, Bluetooth-capable digital media receiver has been added, and rubber mats line the footwells. The dashboard was replaced along with weather seals.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel sits ahead of a 120-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 21k miles, approximately 1k of which have been added under current ownership.
A Kicker 10” subwoofer and a Memphis Audio Power Reference amplifier are housed in the trunk.
The seller states that the engine block was bored to a displacement of 302ci and rebuilt using a Boss 302 crankshaft and rotating assembly. A Holley carburetor is mounted to an Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, and an MSD distributor and Blaster SS ignition coil were utilized along with an Ionic lithium-ion battery, an RAB Performance alternator, an electric radiator cooling fan, and a finned air cleaner lid and valve covers.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission that was rebuilt under prior ownership. The fuel tank was replaced during the build along with the dual exhaust system, which incorporates tubular headers and Flowmaster mufflers. An oil change was performed earlier this year.
The VIN 7R02C148946 is consistent with a 1967 Mustang fastback built at the San Jose, California, assembly plant with a 289ci V8 and a two-barrel carburetor.
