This 1967 Ford Mustang GTA fastback was produced and sold new in California and remained with the original owner until it was purchased by the seller on BaT in August 2024. Subsequent work has included overhauling the suspension, installing a Borgeson power steering system and 15″ American Racing Torq Thrust wheels, and replacing the front and rear valances, rear bumper, and steering wheel. The car is finished in yellow over black vinyl upholstery, and power comes from a 289ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Additional equipment includes an Edelbrock carburetor, front disc brakes, GT side stripes, amber fog lights, front bucket seats, and air conditioning. This Mustang GTA is now offered at no reserve with manufacturer’s literature, spare parts, and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.
Delivered new in Springtime Yellow with a gray taillight panel (85), the fastback body was refinished approximately 16 years ago. GTA badging was used exclusively in 1967 to designate GT Mustangs equipped with an automatic transmission, and this example has amber fog lamps, black rocker-stripe decals, and faux quarter panel vents. The front and rear valances and rear bumper were recently replaced. A dent in the right door and paint blemishes located on the left A-pillar and trailing edge of the left door are noted.
Work under current ownership has included overhauling the suspension as well as installing a Borgeson power steering system and 15″ American Racing Torq Thrust D wheels mounted with Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
The low-back front bucket seats and folding rear bench are trimmed in black vinyl that extends to the dashboard and door panels. Brushed metal trim accents the center console, and additional appointments include air conditioning, rear C-pillar vents, and an aftermarket cassette stereo. Wear is visible on the top of the rear seat and the right rear armrest.
The replacement wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and amperage. The five-digit odometer has rolled over and currently shows 52k miles, approximately 100 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 289ci Challenger Special V8 was factory rated at 225 horsepower and features an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and an aluminum intake manifold.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a C4 three-speed automatic transmission and a live axle with 3.00:1 gearing.
