This 1972 Buick GS Stage 1 convertible underwent a refurbishment in 2022, and it is finished in orange with a power-operated white soft top. It is powered by a 455ci V8 mated to a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip rear differential, and equipment includes the Stage 1 performance package, 15″ Rallye wheels, power steering and front disc brakes, through-the-bumper exhaust tips, a twin-scoop hood, and chrome bumpers. The cabin is outfitted with a Pioneer cassette deck, air conditioning, and bench seating trimmed in white vinyl upholstery. This GS Stage 1 convertible is now offered on dealer consignment with a binder of refurbishment photos, service records, and a clean Florida title.
The car left the factory finished in Flame Orange (65) with a white soft top, and the body was disassembled and refinished during the refurbishment. Exterior equipment includes a power-operated white soft top, quad headlights, a twin-scoop hood, GS badging, and a chrome rear bumper with through-the-bumper exhaust tips. A rip in the soft top is displayed in the gallery.
The 15″ Rallye wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. The car is equipped with power steering, and the power-assisted front disc and rear drum brake system was overhauled in 2018.
The bench seats are upholstered in white vinyl and are joined by black carpets and Buick-branded floor mats. Interior appointments include a Pioneer cassette deck, Pyle tweeters, and air conditioning.
The three-spoke Rallye steering wheel sits on a tilting column and fronts a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, a fuel-level gauge, and readouts for fuel level, oil pressure, and engine temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 16k miles and is believed to have rolled over.
The 455ci V8 was factory rated at net 270 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque, and power is routed to the rear wheels through a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip rear differential. The engine and transmission are said to have been overhauled during the refurbishment, and records in the gallery indicate a factory-style intake manifold and carburetor were installed in 2018.
The exhaust system was replaced during the refurbishment. Corrosion is noted on chassis components, per the selling dealer.
Photos of the refurbishment binder, records, and Buick microfilm are displayed in the gallery.
