This 1974 Ford F-100 Custom was purchased by the seller out of California in 2019, and the subsequent custom build included the installation of a Mustang-sourced 4.6-liter 3-valve V8, five-speed automatic transmission, and 8.8″ rear axle with 3.27:1 gearing as well as a Crown Victoria front suspension assembly with Ridetech coilovers and rack-and-pinion steering. The body wears weathered blue paint along with Mobilgas branding, and the interior has been re-trimmed in two-tone blue. Additional modifications include an aluminum radiator, side exhaust outlets, power-assisted disc brakes, and 19″ alloy wheels as well as a JVC stereo unit, a Painless Performance wiring harness, and an Intellitronix digital instrument panel. This short-bed F-100 dentside pickup is now offered with parts records and a Michigan title in the seller’s name.
The body wears a weathered blue finish with dings, chips, and fading visible, and Mobilgas graphics have been added to the doors and rear window. Details include chrome bumpers, dual side mirrors, and side exhaust outlets ahead of each rear wheel. Wear in the bed and spots of corrosion are visible in the gallery below.
The truck rides on a later-model Crown Victoria front suspension crossmember with aluminum control arms, Ridetech adjustable coilovers, and power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering along with leaf springs out back. Black finished 19″ wheels were sourced from a 2020 Mustang and are wrapped in 255/40 Continental front tires and 275/40 Michelin rear tires. Braking is handled by power-assisted four-wheel discs.
The cab houses a bench seat trimmed in light blue vinyl with blue cloth inserts along with blue carpets and door panels. A JVC CD stereo with Bluetooth connectivity is installed in the dash.
The steering wheel frames an Intellitronix digital instrument cluster that incorporates a speedometer and readouts for oil pressure, voltage, fuel level, and temperature. The digital odometer indicates 2,600 miles, which is reported to be the mileage added since the engine swap was completed.
The 4.6-liter 3-valve V8 was sourced from a 2005 Mustang, according to the seller, and installed along with an aluminum radiator and a wiring harness from Hot Wire Auto.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission that was procured along with the engine. The seller adds the car also has an 8.8″ rear end with 3.27:1 gearing sourced from a 2003 Mustang GT.
