This 1980 Mercedes-Benz 280E was acquired by the seller’s spouse from their grandmother in 2020, and subsequent work involved installing a replacement 2.7-liter inline-six, which is backed by a four-speed automatic transmission. Finished in Light Ivory over Palomino MB-Tex, the car is outfitted with a sunroof, 14″ Bundt alloy wheels, a Kenwood CD player, power windows, and automatic climate control. This W123 280E is now offered at no reserve on behalf of the owner with a clean Washington title.

The car was finished from the factory in Light Ivory (623) and is equipped with quad headlights, a sunroof, fog lights, a driver-side mirror, a power antenna, and polished trim. Areas of rust on the hood, trunk, and roof are noted, and exterior blemishes are shown in the gallery below. Portions of the gallery were taken in 2024.

The car rides on Bundt 14″ alloy wheels, and stopping power is provided by ventilated discs at each corner.

The seating surfaces are upholstered in Palomino MB-Tex, and interior features include a Kenwood CD player, power windows, and automatic climate control. The glovebox does not latch. Tape residue on the glovebox and cracks in the dash are shown in the gallery below.

The four-spoke steering wheel frames an 85-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 172k miles, approximately 100 of which were added under current ownership.

Power is provided by a replacement 2.7-liter M110 inline-six that was installed in 2021. The seller states that the car intermittently does not start if it has been sitting.

Power is routed to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission.

The serial number is shown above, and the current Washington title lists the sequence as the VIN but excludes the “WDB” characters.
