This 1987 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce was the subject of a mechanical and cosmetic refurbishment following the seller’s acquisition in 2020. Work included repainting the body in burgundy metallic, replacing the black soft top and carpets, overhauling the brake system, and installing a 2.0L twin-cam inline-four linked to a rebuilt five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car rides on 15″ alloy wheels and is further equipped with four-wheel disc brakes, a rear spoiler, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, power windows, an AM/FM/cassette stereo, and bucket seats trimmed in Desert Tan leather. This S3 Spider Veloce is now offered with partial service records, a tool kit, a Carfax report, and a South Carolina title in the seller’s name.
The Pininfarina-designed bodywork was repainted in burgundy metallic in October 2022 and a replacement black soft top was installed in January 2024. Details include a front air dam and a rear spoiler. The seller notes the power operated mirrors do not work.
Silver-finished 15″ 12-hole alloy wheels are mounted with 195/60 Hankook Kinergy ST tires showing 2021 date codes. The four-wheel disc brakes received a replacement compensator, master cylinder, booster, hoses, calipers, rotors, and pads under current ownership, and the tie rod ends and sway bar end links were also replaced.
The cabin features bucket seats trimmed in Desert Tan leather along with replacement black carpets. Appointments include an AM/FM/cassette stereo, an analog clock, a wooden shift knob, and power-operated windows. The driver’s seat is worn and the seller states that the air conditioning system does not work.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Jaeger instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, voltage, fuel level, and coolant temperature. The six-digit odometer was repaired in July 2023 and shows 51k miles, which is said to represent the mileage of the replacement drivetrain. The Carfax report shows “potential odometer rollback”, “mileage inconsistency”, and “not actual mileage title issued” entries, and total chassis mileage is unknown.
The replacement 2.0L twin-cam inline-four was sourced from a later model and installed in October 2022. Work since then included replacing the exhaust manifold gasket, intake manifold, oxygen sensor, thermostat, crankshaft sensors, and fuel injector hoses and seals.
A replacement five-speed manual transmission and limited-slip differential were installed in October 2022, and work in November 2023 included rebuilding the transmission and replacing the rear transmission case and clutch master cylinder.
