This 1987 Ford Bronco XLT is finished in Dark Shadow Blue and Medium Silver Metallic over Regatta Blue cloth and powered by a 5.0-liter V8 linked to a four-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Equipment includes the Trailer Tow Package, a power-operated rear window, 15″ multi-spoke steel wheels, front disc brakes, cruise control, and a cassette stereo. The truck was acquired by the selling dealer from the reported second owner in 2020. This Bronco is now offered at no reserve with custom top-off trim pieces, a removable hardtop, a window sticker, manufacturer’s literature, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Michigan title.
The truck is finished in Dark Shadow Blue and Medium Silver Metallic, and exterior details include chrome bumpers, a power-operated rear window, a rear-window defroster, and a drop-down tailgate. A fiberglass trim piece to install when the top is removed is painted to match the body, and an unfinished lightweight version is displayed in the photo above. There are spots of rust in the door jambs.
The 15″ multi-spoke steel wheels were mounted with 30×9.50″ BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires in 2023, at which time the brake master cylinder, shock absorbers, and ball joints were also replaced. A covered spare tire is affixed to the swing-away tailgate-mounted carrier. The truck is equipped with automatically locking front hubs, and braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. The selling dealer notes that the power steering and brake fluids were flushed recently.
The front captain’s chairs and rear bench are upholstered in Regatta Blue cloth and joined by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Appointments include cruise control, a locking center console, and a cassette stereo. The selling dealer tells us that the air conditioning does not blow as cold as it should, the stereo volume is difficult to control, and static plays over the speakers.
The leather-wrapped two-spoke steering wheel frames an 85-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer is said to have rolled over once and shows 22k miles, approximately 2k of which were added by the selling dealer.
The 5.0-liter V8 was factory rated at 185 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. The radiator core support was replaced in 2021. The selling dealer tells us that recent maintenance in preparation for the sale has involved replacing the fuel pump, sending unit, and filters in addition to the spark plugs and the distributor cap and rotor. The coolant was flushed and the oil was changed.
Power is delivered to the rear or all four wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The driveshaft universal joints were reportedly replaced in 2023, and the selling dealer adds that the transmission fluid was changed in preparation for the sale. An undercoating was removed and a liquid rust inhibitor was applied.
The window sticker lists initial delivery to Huntington Ford of Rochester, Michigan, along with factory colors, equipment, and a total of $19,870.
A removable hardtop is included in the sale.
The Carfax report is free of accidents or other damage. There is a gap in entries from January 1987 to July 2007, and the most recent entry was from April 2021.
