This 1990 Ducati 851 Superbike is powered by a fuel-injected 851cc Desmoquattro L-twin paired with a six-speed transmission and is finished in red over a white trellis frame. It features a full fairing with a tinted windscreen and a biposto tail section with a racing-style seat and is equipped with triple Brembo brakes, a Marzocchi fork, a Showa monoshock, an aluminum box-section swingarm, and Brembo 17″ alloy wheels. This 851 was acquired by the seller in 2014 and is now offered with a pit stand, an owner’s manual, a tool roll, and a clean Ohio title in the seller’s spouse’s name.
The bodywork is finished in red with white and black graphics over a white trellis frame and features a full fairing with a tinted windscreen, dual mirrors, integrated turn signals, and a rectangular headlight. Additional equipment includes a 5.3-gallon fuel tank with a black tank protector and a biposto tail section with a black vinyl racing-style seat, a rear bumper pad, and a pillion cover as well as rear-set foot controls, folding passenger foot pegs, and a side stand. Close-up photos that show paint chips, scrapes, and cracks can be viewed in the gallery.
Brembo 17″ tri-spoke aluminum wheels are finished in white and mounted with older Michelin Macadam tires. Adjustable suspension consists of a 42mm Marzocchi M1R inverted fork as well as a Showa monoshock mounted to the box-section aluminum swingarm. Braking is handled by Brembo four-piston calipers over dual 320mm rotors up front and a two-piston Brembo caliper over a single 245mm disc at the rear. The brake and clutch hydraulic lines have been replaced.
Black-finished clip-on handlebars secured below the top triple clamp frame a dashboard with a carbon-fiber cover and white-dial Veglia Borletti instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 10k-rpm redline, and a coolant temperature gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 11k miles, a handful of which were ridden by the seller.
The liquid-cooled 851cc Desmoquattro L-twin features four desmodromically actuated valves per cylinder, Weber-Marelli IAW P7 electronic fuel injection, a pair of 50mm throttle bodies, and a dual exhaust system with canister-style Ducati ZDM silencers stamped A11 and B11 on the right and left, respectively. The oil and coolant were changed in November 2024.
Power is sent to the rear wheel by way of a hydraulically actuated multiplate dry clutch, a six-speed gearbox, and a drive chain.
The bike is accompanied by a pit stand, a tool roll, and an owner’s manual.
