This 1993 GMC Typhoon is powered by a turbocharged 4.3-liter V6, which drives all four wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission, a transfer case, and a limited-slip rear differential. Finished in Frost White over Charcoal leather upholstery, it is equipped with fog lights, turbine-style 16″ aluminum wheels, a self-leveling rear suspension, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, an Alpine stereo, cruise control, and air conditioning. Purchased by the current owner in 2025, this Typhoon shows 66k miles and is offered with removed factory gold Typhoon badging, a Carfax report, and a clean Indiana title in the seller’s name.
The Typhoon was based on the contemporary GMC Jimmy and was produced for the 1992 and 1993 model years by Production Automotive Services of Troy, Michigan, in partnership with GMC. The truck is one of approximately 532 produced in Frost White with color-matched lower cladding and wheel arches for the model year. Exterior equipment includes a factory aerodynamic package, integrated fog lights, roof rails, a split tailgate, and a rear window wiper. An October 2020 entry on the Carfax report lists “minor damage” to the front left, front, and front right of the car. The seller notes that some of the factory gold Typhoon badging, emblems, and decals have been swapped for red decals, but they will be including the removed gold badging, emblems, and decals in the sale. Close-up photographs of the exterior finish and trim are shown in the gallery below.
Turbine-style 16″ aluminum wheels are mounted with Hankook Ventus V2 Concept 2 tires. The truck is equipped with a self-leveling rear suspension, and stopping power is provided by anti-lock front disc and rear drum brakes. The front brake pads were replaced in 2020.
The cabin features seats upholstered in Charcoal leather. Interior amenities include a power-adjustable driver’s seat, an Alpine stereo, cruise control, air conditioning, and power windows and locks.
The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5,200-rpm redline with an inset boost-pressure gauge as well as gauges for coolant temperature, voltage, oil pressure, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 66k miles, approximately 200 of which were added under current ownership.
The turbocharged and intercooled 4.3-liter LB4 V6 was factory rated at 285 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. The seller notes an aftermarket ECU chip.
Power is routed to all four wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission, a BorgWarner transfer case, and a limited-slip rear differential. Typhoons were also equipped with a high-capacity transmission cooling package.
The Carfax report lists the aforementioned October 2020 damage.
