This Toyota 4Runner (N180) got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1996 Toyota 4Runner SR5 remained registered in California until it was acquired by the seller on BaT in October 2023. It is finished in Evergreen Pearl over tan leather and is powered by a 3.4-liter V6 linked with a four-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Features include 16” wheels, KYB shocks, JBA Offroad upper control arms, Toyota Tundra brake components, a carbon-fiber hood, an Alpine head unit, a rearview camera, and a Rockville subwoofer. The vehicle is described as a project that requires engine and cooling system service. This N180 4Runner is now offered at no reserve in Washington with service records, a Carfax report, and a clean Illinois title in the seller’s name.

The truck is finished in Evergreen Pearl and features a carbon-fiber hood, a roof rack, mud flaps, window visors, skid plates, a receiver hitch, and a rear window wiper. Fog lights have been added to the lower front valance, and the headlights are said to be aftermarket units. Noted flaws include a blemish on the left rear door, a dent on the rear bumper, and peeling clearcoat along the body and roof. Rust on the tailgate was addressed in March 2025.

The suspension has been modified with KYB Gas-a-Just dampers, aftermarket springs, and JBA Offroad upper control arms. The 16″ alloy wheels are mounted with 265/70 General Grabber AT2 tires, and Spidertrax wheel spacers are reportedly fitted. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums, and braking components sourced from a Tundra are said to have been installed under previous ownership. The front CV axles were replaced in April 2025.

The front bucket seats were reupholstered in tan leather under previous ownership. Cabin features include air conditioning, cruise control, a digital clock, a power rear window, WeatherTech floor mats, and an Alpine head unit linked to a Rockville subwoofer mounted in the rear cargo area. The seller notes that a rearview camera was installed under current ownership. Sound-deadening insulation and replacement carpets are said to have been installed under previous ownership.

The two-spoke steering wheel is worn and frames a 110-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 5,500-rpm redline, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The instrument cluster was replaced in February 2025, and the replacement six-digit odometer shows 156k miles. The seller tells us that the previously installed odometer showed 208k miles at the time of the replacement. A mileage inconsistency is noted on the Carfax report in a 2025 entry, and total mileage is unknown.

The 3.4-liter 5VZ-FE V6 was factory rated at 183 horsepower and 217 lb-ft of torque. The oil pan gasket was replaced in 2023, and the PCV valve, spark plugs, and spark plug wires were replaced in 2024. The head was rebuilt and resealed in January 2025, though an April 2025 invoice shown in the gallery below notes that the head gaskets may be blown and that the fan clutch needs to be replaced.

Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. A used front differential was installed in 2020, and the fluids for the transmission, transfer case, and differentials were flushed in 2023.

The Carfax report notes the aforementioned mileage inconsistency.
