This 1998 Mercedes-Benz SL500 has been registered in Georgia from new, and it was purchased by its current owner from the late original owner’s family in August 2024. It is finished in Imperial Red over beige leather and is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a removable hardtop, a black soft top, 18″ AMG Monoblock wheels, xenon headlights, fog lights, power-adjustable seats, a cassette stereo, a Bose sound system, a remote six-disc CD changer, Coco floor mats, a wind deflector, and automatic climate control. This R129 has 70k miles and is now offered on dealer consignment with the owner’s manual, service records, and a clean Georgia title.
The car is finished in Imperial Red (582) and features a matching removable hardtop, xenon headlights, fog lights, and fender air vents. The Carfax report indicates that a March 2010 accident resulted in “minor” damage to the rear. The selling dealer states that the soft-top hydraulic cylinders were replaced and the hood was repainted under prior ownership and the trunk latch was repaired in preparation for the sale. Bodywork in September 2024 included dent repairs on the rear-left quarter panel and repainting the bumper covers. Photos showing paint-meter readings are included in the gallery.
The 18″ AMG Monoblock wheels are mounted with Michelin tires. A September 2024 service record included in the gallery indicates that the front-right wheel is bent. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with ABS. The brake fluid was flushed in March 2025.
The power-adjustable seats are upholstered in beige leather, and burl wood accents the doors and center stack. Amenities include a deployable roll bar, seat position memory, a cassette stereo, a Bose sound system, a remote six-disc CD changer, cruise control, Coco floor mats, a wind deflector, and automatic climate control. The hardtop’s headliner was replaced in August 2024.
The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel economy, and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 70k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership.
The 5.0-liter M119 V8 was factory rated at 315 horsepower and 347 lb-ft of torque. The passenger-side valve cover, the crankcase vent hoses, and an ignition coil were replaced in August 2024.
Power is routed to the rear wheels via a five-speed automatic transmission.
The Carfax report shows the aforementioned accident.
