This 2000 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS is a modified example that spent time in Connecticut before being purchased by the prior owner in June 2019. The car is finished in Silverthorn Metallic over a blue-and-black interior and is powered by a retrofitted 2.0-liter EJ207 turbocharged flat-four that drives all four wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. It was purchased by the seller’s father after an April 2022 BaT auction. Subsequent work included replacing the radiator, hood, front bumper, head unit, and speakers. Additional equipment includes a limited-slip rear differential, bronze 17″ TE37-style wheels, and Brembo brakes along with body, suspension, engine, and drivetrain modifications. This Impreza is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with a clean Massachusetts title in the owner’s name.
The body is finished in Silverthorn Metallic and has been fitted with Japanese domestic market-style components, including a rear bumper, badge, fog lights, and taillights, the latter of which were resealed under current ownership. The car was involved in a front-end collision in summer 2022 that necessitated the replacement of the hood and front bumper as well as color-correction on the fenders. The previously fitted C-West carbon-fiber front spoiler and front mudflaps have been removed, and equipment includes clear cornering lights and side markers, an electric sunroof, tinted windows, painted side skirts, STi-branded mud flaps, and a raised Bakemono STi-style rear wing. There is a crack in the driver-side mirror. Various rust spots are noted.
Bronze-finished 17″ Volk TE37-style six-spoke wheels show curb rash and wear Toyo Celsius tires. The car reportedly rides on BC Racing coilovers, and braking power is provided by gold-finished Brembo calipers over DBA pads and slotted rotors. Cusco front and rear strut braces are said to have been fitted. The right-rear wheel bearing was replaced under current ownership.
The cabin features front seats upholstered in blue cloth accompanied by a black dashboard, door panels, rear bench, and replacement carpets. Interior features include carbon-fiber style inserts on the center stack, 2.5RS-branded floor mats, the shift knob from a later-model WRX STi, and an aftermarket double-DIN head unit mounted above the HVAC vents. The air conditioning does not work. The shift knob and speakers were replaced since the prior BaT auction. The previous radio has been removed, with a slot remaining in the dash.
The four-spoke airbag steering wheel frames replacement JDM STi instrumentation consisting of a central 9k-rpm tachometer, a 180-km/h speedometer, and auxiliary gauges. A pod mounted on the A-pillar contains AEM gauges for oil pressure, boost pressure, and air/fuel ratio. The replacement digital odometer indicates 24k kilometers (~15k miles). The Carfax report lists a mileage inconsistency in May 2022, and total mileage is unknown.
The turbocharged and intercooled 2.0-liter EJ207 flat-four is said to have been sourced from a JDM WRX STi Version VII and installed by 603 Performance of Londonderry, New Hampshire. Additional equipment reportedly includes a Cobb down-pipe, a titanium Invidia cat-back exhaust system, an ETS cold air intake, and an oil catch can and pickup by Killer B. The battery has been relocated to the trunk and is missing a tie-down. The radiator was replaced after the 2022 collision, as was the battery and alternator belt. The temperature sensor does not work.
Power is sent to all four wheels through drivetrain components said to have been sourced from a JDM WRX STi Version VII, including a six-speed manual transmission, a viscous center differential, and a limited-slip rear differential. A Kartboy short-throw shifter has reportedly been fitted.
The Carfax report shows the aforementioned mileage inconsistency.
