This 2006 Mercedes-Benz SL500 is finished in Pewter Metallic over Charcoal leather and is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 linked to a seven-speed automatic transmission. It has been fitted with a Top Speed Pro 1 exhaust system and also has a power-folding hardtop, xenon headlights, 18″ alloy wheels, heated seats, and a Kenwood stereo and speakers. The car was acquired by the seller in 2017, and work under current ownership included rebuilding the rear suspension valve block and replacing the ABC pump, hardtop hydraulic cylinders, roll bar lock pawl cylinders, valve cover gaskets, batteries, and engine and transmission mounts. This R230 has 74k miles and is now offered at no reserve with service records, a car cover, a Carfax report, and a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in Pewter Metallic (723) and is equipped with a power-folding convertible hardtop, xenon headlights, fog lights, dual exhaust outlets, parking sensors, and fender air vents. A later-style grille, daytime running lights, and tailights have been installed. Damage is noted on the Carfax report in a 2010 entry. The front bumper cover and hood were repainted in 2017, and the hydraulic cylinders for the hardtop were replaced that year. The lock pawl cylinders for the roll bar were replaced in 2019.
The 18″ alloy wheels are mounted with 245/40 front and 275/35 rear Pirelli P Zero All Season tires. The car features Active Body Control (ABC) suspension as well as an Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and Automatic Slip Control (ASR). The ABC valve hydraulic lines were replaced in 2018, the rear suspension valve block was rebuilt in 2022, and the ABC pump was replaced in 2023.
The heated and power-adjustable seats are upholstered in Charcoal leather. A Kenwood stereo and speakers have been installed. There is an issue with the push-button start system.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 74k miles, approximately 31k of which were added under current ownership.
The 5.0-liter M113 V8 was factory rated at 302 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed automatic transmission. The valve cover gaskets and spark plugs were replaced in 2020, and a Top Speed Pro 1 exhaust system was installed that year. The batteries were replaced in 2022, and the engine and transmission mounts were replaced in 2023. An oil change was performed in preparation for the sale.
The Carfax report notes the aforementioned damage.
