This Corvette Grand Sport replica was built in the style of a 1963 Grand Sport lightweight racing car. The fiberglass body is finished in blue and mounted to a tube-frame chassis, and it is powered by a 5.7-liter LT4 V8 linked with a six-speed manual transmission and a Positraction differential. It rides on a C4 Corvette-spec suspension with front and rear sway bars and adjustable coilovers. Details include 17″ knock-off wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, a domed hood, fixed headlights, quarter panel scoops, and a side-outlet exhaust system. The cabin is outfitted with air conditioning, a roll bar, aftermarket gauges and switchgear, and five-point harnesses. This Corvette Grand Sport replica is now offered by the selling dealer with a Wisconsin title listing it as a 1964 Chevrolet.
The fiberglass body is mounted to a Mongoose Motorsports tubular chassis and is finished in blue with gray-painted over-the-top stripes. Features include fixed and covered headlights, a front spoiler, quarter panel scoops, a trunk, a racing-style fuel cap, a domed hood, a side-exit exhaust system, flared wheel arches, and taillight panel vent holes.
The 17″ knock-off wheels are mounted with 315/35 Sumitomo tires. C4 Corvette-spec independent front and rear suspension is fitted with sway bars and adjustable coilovers. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by aftermarket power-assisted disc brakes at all four corners.
The cabin features aftermarket bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl as well as a roll bar, dark gray carpeting, and a light gray dashboard and door panels. Amenities include air conditioning, a heater, an AM/FM radio, a 12-volt power outlet, and G-Force five-point harnesses.
An aftermarket steering wheel is mounted to a tilting column and frames white-dial AutoMeter instrumentation. The digital odometer shows 816 miles, approximately 20 of which were added under current ownership.
The 5.7-liter LT4 V8 was installed under previous ownership and has aluminum cylinder heads, fuel injection, coated exhaust headers, and an aluminum radiator with an electric fan.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission with a hydraulic clutch. A custom fuel tank is fitted with a Weldon high-performance fuel pump and filter system as well as stainless braided hoses. There is also an external rear-end oil cooler.
The Wisconsin title lists the car as a 1964 Chevrolet and lists under “Additional Vehicle Detail,” “TITLED IN WI AS: STREET MODIFIED.” The title uses the VIN shown on the tag above, 40867S110867, which is consistent with a 1964 Chevrolet Corvette.
