SOHC-Converted Small-Block Chevrolet V8 Engine

This Chevrolet small-block V8 engine was modified by Pete Aardema to utilize single overhead camshafts before it was installed in a custom hot rod build, and the seller acquired the engine in 2024. It is now offered at no reserve in Yuma, Arizona.
Per the seller, the engine began life in a 1963 Corvette and was later modified with hardware from Aardema Developments to be reconfigured for single overhead camshafts.
A republished November 1992 excerpt from Hot Rod Magazine outlines Pete Aardema’s past modification work. Aardema has modified various other engines with fellow hot rodder Kevin Braun.
Additional photos of internal components and identifying marks around the engine are provided in the gallery.
