This illuminated Goodyear sign measures around 24′ wide when arranged to spell the company name. Neon fixtures powered by 120-volt wiring are in each of the eight letters and the Wingfoot logo. The sign is constructed of blue-finished metal enclosures with yellow translucent panels. Acquired by the seller circa 2022, this illuminated Goodyear sign is now offered at no reserve in Haymarket, Virginia
Founded in 1898 as Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, the Ohio-based company was named for Charles Goodyear, the inventor of vulcanized rubber. The single-sided illuminated sign spans around 24′ when configured as pictured. The individual letters are about 24″ tall, and the Wingfoot logo is both taller and wider than the letters.
The sign is finished in yellow translucent panels with blue-finished metal frames. The seller states the letter trim caps and color-matched screws were replaced under current ownership.
Each letter and the Wingfoot logo have 120-volt neon illumination.
Informational stickers on the assemblies are photographed below. The neon fixture seen above carries a 1999 date code.
